Maintenance Mechanic

Per Sé Group has an immediate need for Maintenance Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic will provide critical support to the maintenance department at a power generation facility. Working as part of a team this individual will work under general supervision installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment such as boilers, turbines and auxiliary equipment. This is a perfect opportunity looking for a long-term career in power plant maintenance.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment and system problems to determine the root cause and proper corrective action.
  • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance activities and equipment performance analysis using diagnostic technologies and portable test equipment.
  • Perform cutting and welding; assist in disassembling and assembling equipment, piping, tubing, and flanges
  • Use standard measurement and precision tools and devices to close tolerances
  • Operate standard machine tools, power and hand tools in a safe, effective manner
  • Be able to read and understand technical information such as prints, engineering data, charts, and graphs
  • Perform general cleaning and painting; interact with station personnel, contractors and others
  • Respond to overtime requests as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position is exposed to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, cold and hot temperatures and moderate to high noise levels
  • This position requires the ability to work overtime and nights shifts as directed
  • The position requires a person to occasionally lift, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, walk, sit, stand and climb
  • The position requires a person to work in confined spaces and work at heights in excess of 150

Desired Skills and Expertise

  • Power plant or other heavy industry experience
  • Must be willing to work overtime, nights and weekends
  • Ability to properly use standard and precision tools, equipment, and read, interpret blueprints, plans, and technical instructions
  • The position requires a person to occasionally lift, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, walk, sit, stand and climb
