As National Vice President of Public Works, you will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the company’s public works operations across Florida. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery, business development, and team management. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly accomplished and visionary leader to drive growth and success in a thriving market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the public works division in Florida. Identify new business opportunities and expand the company’s market share.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the execution of all public works projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Business Development: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Lead business development initiatives to secure new projects and contracts.
- Financial Management: Manage the financial performance of the public works division, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Team Leadership: Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and support staff. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to the business, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the public sector. Ensure client satisfaction and secure repeat business.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in the public works industry, with a proven track record of success in managing large-scale projects and teams.
- Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Deep understanding of the public works sector in Florida, including regulatory requirements, procurement processes, and key stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
