Summary
Per Sé Group is seeking a Product Manager (Finishing & Deburring) for our client, North America’s premier supplier and servicer of lasers, EDMs, press brakes and fabrication and milling equipment. Founded in 1978, our client has more than 430 employees in North America and is a part of a global corporation, serving industries including aerospace, automotive, mold and die, job shops, medical and energy. In this role, you will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including but not limited to: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, increasing profitability of existing products, implementing product strategies for existing and future products, working closely with suppliers, sales, service, application, and marketing teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Responsibilities
- Create sales data and all related info on new product offerings, continue R&D through the life cycle of the product.
- Manage the entire product line life cycle by defining product strategy and roadmap.
- Act as the point of first reference for all product-related inquiries for the sales team. Work collaboratively with colleagues to research and address any issues that may arise in product lines.
- Support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise. Develop sales tools and product documentation with sales management for inside and outside sales forces. Conduct technical product presentations for existing or future product lines for sales and service teams.
- Maintain knowledge of market trends and developments and monitor industry best practices.
- Research and analyze market conditions to identify key competitor/consumer trends for development into company product offerings, opportunities, product innovation, and enhancements on existing or future Laser product lines while comparing to competitor offerings in the market.
- Visit manufacturers to recommend the nature and scope of existing and future product line offerings derived from market research, reviewing competitor product offerings, and appraising new product ideas supported by ongoing visits to customers, ensuring products support company overall strategy.
- Supply application team technical documentation to develop customer and market requirements. Brief manufacturers on current problems in the field or at beta sites; develop timelines and roadmaps for implementation of updates for distribution to the customer base through the service team.
- Create Market Research and Product Research documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
- Obtain product market share by working with sales management to develop product sales strategies.
Preferred Skills and Expertise
- 5+ years of experience in the industry or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree a strong plus or equivalent
- Previous product management or related experience
- Knowledge of Deburring, leveling, and finishing techniques, programming, controller functions, troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to train technicians/applications team/customers/sales team on proper usage of such techniques
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of finishing machines.
- ERP/CRM Experience, Sales Force, and AX a strong plus
- PPT, EXCEL, Strong presentation skills
- Ability to identify opportunities to sell customers additional products and to sell the product in such opportunities
- Considerable knowledge and the ability to apply the principles and practices to the functionality of finishing machines sold by the company
- Ability to independently diagnose and treat a variety of problems or situations and modify as deemed necessary
- Knowledge and ability to apply industry standards that may not be completely applicable to the work and may require adaptation, modification, or deviation
- Ability to create strategic and effective solutions for product development (R&D)
- Comprehensive mastery of applicable industry standards and the ability to draw upon that knowledge to create innovative solutions for customer needs through market research
