Summary
Per Se Group has a great short-term job opportunity for a lubrication technician to work with our refinery client in Pasadena. The ideal candidate will complete assigned tasks in accordance with the preventative maintenance schedule and assist the mechanical team with daily duties including performing field level oil analyses, looking for moisture, debris, discoloration, or any other abnormalities. This role will ensure that assigned work is executed efficiently, safely, and meets all quality and operational standards. In this role, you will safely use hand tools and other basic equipment including a lubrication gun.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, lubricate, and reinstall couplers.
  • Modify mechanical systems as directed to facilitate sampling and filtration, and other proactive improvements.
  • Perform basic evaluation of oil analysis results and recommend current and future maintenance actions for improvement.
  • Report any discrepancies or conditions that require corrective, predictive or planned maintenance for production systems.
  • Safe and effective use of tools and equipment for routine and non-routine lubrication functions.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain clean and safe work area.
  • Drain, clean and fill reservoirs to maintain adequate levels and optimal operations.
  • Change filters and breathers as scheduled or required.
  • Utilize and maintain both manual and automatic dispensing equipment.
  • Label and tag reservoirs, equipment, inventory, and delivery containers.
  • Update scheduling systems using detailed feedback and enter work requests for maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Schedule, collect, label and mail samples with requisite details for analysis.
  • Dispose of used oils and contaminated materials (ie: rags, used filters, etc.) per company policy.
  • Keep lubrication storage areas, tools and vehicles clean and organized.

Preferred Experience & Abilities

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 1-3 years of related experience in a refinery setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills with good team-building qualities.
  • Display high levels of initiative with a strong work ethic and capable of working independently.
  • Capacity to read and interpret technical documents including blueprints, OEM prints, advanced lubrication instructions and recommendations, as well as software system instructions.
  • Understand and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical functions for the purpose of calculating lubricant inventory and calculating re-lubrication quantity considerations.
  • Basic computer literacy, including the capability to operate standard email, spreadsheets, word processing and moderately complex software.
  • Able to keep work areas and equipment neat and orderly.
  • Demonstrated physical ability and skill to climb, enter vessels through man ways and work in elevated locations or confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
