Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at our oil refinery facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems in a challenging industrial environment. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC principles, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work safely and effectively in a refinery setting.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues, including electrical and mechanical components, refrigerant leaks, and system malfunctions.
  • Perform emergency repairs as necessary to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of critical HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and refinery staff to coordinate HVAC activities with ongoing operations and maintenance projects.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with refinery safety regulations.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, logs, and equipment records.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to HVAC systems and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited HVAC technician program preferred.
  • Journeyman HVAC technician certification or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair, preferably in a refinery or similar industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, including electrical wiring, refrigeration systems, and control systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to refinery safety regulations at all times.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA Universal Certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Additional certifications in electrical systems, controls, or other related fields.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

The pay range for this role is $55/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire and schedule type).
