A swiftly-growing solar power equipment start-up located in the North San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a motivated Prototype Mechanical Assembler to join their team. The company is designing and manufacturing cutting-edge PV ground mount systems for the utility-scale solar industry. Among the senior leadership and founders of this firm are former members of the product development teams from some of the biggest names in the industry. This is an opportunity for a skilled manufacturing Prototype Mechanical Assembler to join a team on the forefront of the renewable energy revolution.

Responsibilities:
•Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.     
•Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
•Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects
•Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. 
•Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
•Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
•Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
•Oversee ERP initiatives, data validation, and improvements
•Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment and keep equipment service records
•Read and understand operating manuals, schematics, and technical drawings
•Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
•Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears
•Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
•Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools
•Assemble and test mechanical and electrical prototypes based on limited information
•Provide feedback to machine designers to assist in improving our products

Requirements:
•Experience maintaining heavy equipment (required) 
•Forklift operator (desirable) 
•Excavator operator (desirable) 
•This position will require modest travel (less than 10%) to assist at job sites in the US and international locations. 
•This position will require minimal on-site (under 20%) presence in San Rafael office
