Summary

Per Sé Group is seeking a  Construction Engineering Manager - Renewable Energy, for our client, the largest 100% renewable energy company with no fossil legacy in the world. With more than 30 years of experience and operations in 20 countries on five continents, our client offers a wide portfolio of tailored energy solutions so that its corporate and institutional clients can meet their decarbonization goals. This includes the development, engineering, construction, operation, and maintenance of renewable power plants, mainly wind and photovoltaic technologies as well as newer technologies such as storage and green hydrogen. The first project you will manage is a 280MW utility scale wind farm in Alberta, Canada.  In this role you will provide onsite management for project implementation of large-scale construction projects.  Must be US citizen with BSEE from accredited college.   The project is estimated to run 12 months.  There is a possibility, that with other major projects coming to fruition, you could be requested at one of the projects in the US before 12 months.  

Responsibilities
  • Manage field personnel to monitor day-to-day activities and provide oversight to contractors and sub-contractors, identify construction specification errors, assure construction is in accordance with contract specifications and applicable codes, assure safe and efficient work methods are utilized.
  • Ensure the execution and practice of all safety policies and procedures.
  • Administer and monitor safety programs and perform safety assessments.
  • Provide management and coordination with external contractors and equipment manufacturers and support site permitting process, equipment selection, project design specifications, develop project schedules and cost estimates.
  • Provide onsite contractor interface, local government interface and community relations. Understand and enforce rules set by regulatory bodies (i.e., DOT, OSHA, DNR, etc.)
  • Interface with internal project team personnel and customers and supervise employees daily.
  • Develop project Punch List and ensure Punch List completion, validate milestones and /or quantities submitted by the contractor for payment, and assist in resolution of field problems as appropriate.
  • Ensure the quality of construction through continuous monitoring of the construction and installation QC process.

Preferred Skills and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
  • 5+ years progressive professional experience in renewable energy/wind construction related positions (e.g., management, project controls, QA/QC).
  • Experience with 200mw+ wind builds preferred (solid understanding of wind construction projects) with strong field leadership experience being responsible for everything on the project.
  • Demonstrated experience of providing oversight for owners over EPC, subcontractors, contractors, and direct employees, motivating and driving owner’s high standards.
  • Understanding of wind construction projects cost, schedule, quality and ‘on task/off tasks’.
  • Experienced with being the “eyes and ears” of the Owner in field, reporting daily, weekly monthly with home office.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction standards, work methods, equipment, union relations, maintenance practices and materials. Ability to read and understand maps, plan and profiles, and drawings.
  • Demonstrated financial skills such as developing a budget, interpreting, and understanding financial reports, and financial evaluations.
