Summary
As a Power Plant Control Room Operator, your knowledgeable actions will ensure that reliable power is being provided to the ISO-NE regional power grid. You will operate and maintain a utility-scale natural gas power plant as a CRO or CRO in-training. The components of your essential skillset will “keep the lights on” whenever the power plant is dispatched.
Responsibilities

Control power-generating equipment, such as boilers, turbines, and generators
- Read charts, meters, and gauges to monitor voltage and electricity flows
- Direct outside operators as needed

Check equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems

Adjust controls to regulate the flow of power

Start or stop generators, turbines, and other equipment as necessary

Perform maintenance tasks as required
Preferred Background

5+ yeas experience within the field of Power Generation
-
Prior experience as a Control Room Operator
-
Marine Engineering degree, or Military / Navy Power Generation training – a big plus
