Summary
Our client in Wisconsin has an exciting opportunity at their refinery for a Mechanical/Piping coordinator. This person will be responsible for mechanical and piping construction coordination and execution of the rebuild project. They will coordinate the contractors' daily work and control methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, work schedule and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for safety guidance and enforcement of site rules and regulations
- Coordinates contractor activities and ensures performance is in accordance with work packages and instructions
- Ensures the coordinators bring RFI's to closure, and contractor work complies with project requirements, specifications and / or drawings
- Coordinates Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS)
- Provides input and monitors the construction schedule, including identifying potential problems and impacts to the schedule
- Provides input and support mitigations of identified construction risk items
Preferred Skills and Expertise
- A minimum of 15 years of experience on large capital projects
- Proven practical knowledge of current project and construction management tools and practices (e.g. cost management systems, scheduling, estimating, risk tools, constructability, etc.)
- Experience with various labor postures in owner and contractor organizations preferred
- Recognized participation in industry organizations such as CII, COAA, IPA, etc. (Asset)
- Appropriate trade designation / certification - Journeyman designation as a minimum
- Other relevant post-secondary education in construction management, advanced degree or equivalent experience will be considered in total experience
