Summary
As a Project Engineer, you will work on specific engineering disciplines while working alongside the project manager. You will be an important part of the projects team and your process safety and power distribution and controls experience will fulfill a critical need for a company in the energy industry. You will work onsite as a contractor.
Responsibilities
- Provides discipline specific engineering assistance, direction and development assistance to colleagues
- Solves technical problems related to projects and troubleshoots and updates report data for business unit(s)
- Upgrades, designs, configures, maintains and monitors related equipment and performance
- Analyzes related components and systems, processes and methods, and refinery processes and economics
- Develops project scopes, budgets and AFE’s for approval and ensures projects meet budget as well as refinery and OSHA standards
- Ensures the maintenance and integrity of business unit(s) data
- Optimizes business unit(s) and analyzes data to aid operations with decisions
- Researches and stays abreast of assigned discipline subjects, innovations and leading edge developments
- Develops systems to document and track the testing and assist in the maintenance of the various systems
Preferred Skills and Expertise
- 0-3 years of progressive work experience in a specific engineering discipline
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline is required
- Refinery or petrochemical industry experience preferred
- A strong understanding of basic refinery processes and the elements of process safety is required for Process Safety Engineering discipline
- Emphasis on power distribution and controls engineering is required of the electrical discipline depending on assignment
