Summary

Per Sé Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician (IC&E) to work a contract position at our client’s brand new, state-of-the-art, 1,250-megawatt natural gas-fueled combined-cycle electric generation facility.  Our client is a leading electric generation company where safety is of paramount importance. Their safety record beats the industry average with safety performance regularly in the top quartile of electric generators.  In this role, you will be primarily focused on plant maintenance (day shift) and must possess strong experience in electrical & instrumentation skills.

 This new energy center has two GE 7HA.02 combustion turbines (CT), two heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) and two GE A650 steam turbines (ST), making it one of the cleanest, most efficient generating facilities of its kind. 

Responsibilities
 

  • Conduct all work activities in a professional, environmentally conscious, and safe manner.
  • Assures operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Collecting and recording all necessary operational and instrumentation data to make informed decisions on maintenance of plant equipment
  • Responds to plant upset events and emergencies to support 24/7 operations
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair of all plant equipment to include instrumentation, control systems, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
  • Performs predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance.

Preferred Skills and Expertise
 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power plant operations and/or maintenance, or a similar related field, as a qualified plant operator and/or maintenance technician
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation
  • Experience valve troubleshooting & maintenance – AOVs, MOVs, etc
  • Proficiency in reading drawings, prints, P&IDs
  • Experience working in a CMMS (updating WOs assigned, particularly the plant uses Maximo)
  • Experience with GE Gas & Steam Turbines and Combined Cycle Operations
  • CEMS analyzer calibrations & maintenance experience
  • DCS Mark VIe experience is nice, but not necessary
  • A strong familiarity with Predictive and Preventative Maintenance programs and technical standards
  • Experience with steam turbine and/or combustion turbine power generation preferred.
  • Experience in working with a distributed control systems (DCS) preferred
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the Operations and Maintenance of a combustion turbine generating station, including balance of plant equipment (or similar heavy industry or process equipment)
