Position Overview: We are looking for a Construction Estimator to accurately estimate the costs associated with construction projects, ranging from $100,000 to $10 million. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs, along with excellent analytical and communication skills. The Construction Estimator will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to develop competitive bids and ensure the successful completion of projects within budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
2. Conduct site visits and collaborate with project managers to gather information necessary for accurate cost estimation.
3. Analyze project drawings and blueprints to identify materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction.
4. Utilize estimating software and other tools to prepare detailed cost estimates, including material takeoffs, labor costs, and subcontractor bids.
5. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitive pricing and adherence to project specifications.
6. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and availability of materials and equipment.
7. Prepare and present cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages to clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
8. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
9. Monitor project budgets and provide ongoing support to project teams to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
10. Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and cost fluctuations to accurately forecast project costs and mitigate potential risks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience as a construction estimator, with a track record of successfully bidding and winning projects ranging from $100,000 to $10 million.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification as a Professional Estimator (e.g., CPE, ASPE) is a plus.
