Sustainability – ESG Analyst

Summary

The Sustainability – ESG Analyst supports the Sustainability-ESG Manager and broader ESG Team in executing the organization’s ESG and Sustainability strategy. This role is responsible for managing ESG data, ensuring regulatory compliance, contributing to ESG disclosures, and supporting internal and external sustainability communications. The analyst will also maintain the company’s sustainability web content and assist in enhancing ESG performance across recognized frameworks and rating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret ESG and climate-related regulations (e.g., TCFD, California climate rules) and support compliance and third-party data assurance.

  • Analyze and report on carbon footprints, GHG emissions, and energy usage data.

  • Assist in preparing ESG and climate disclosures aligned with standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN Global Compact, and the GHG Protocol.

  • Support the execution of the company’s ESG and climate roadmap.

  • Utilize ESG application solutions (software) to track, collect, and report ESG KPIs and performance metrics.

  • Maintain and regularly update the organization’s sustainability section of the website, ensuring content accuracy and alignment with brand messaging.

  • Respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries about the company’s ESG and sustainability efforts.

  • Support improvements in ESG ratings and rankings from key evaluators (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, CDP).

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and climate disclosure standards (e.g., TCFD, GHG Protocol).

  • Experience with ESG disclosures, carbon accounting, and climate impact analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, or similar tools for data analysis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for simplifying complex ESG data into clear messages.

  • Familiarity with ESG data platforms (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, CDP).

  • Experience using web content management systems (WordPress preferred).

  • GRI or SASB certification (a plus).

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Business, Economics, or a related field.

The pay range for this role is $30-$40/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire and schedule type).
