Job Details

We are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership, troubleshoot technical challenges, and ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and project specifications. This role requires deep expertise in piping and mechanical systems, with strong skills in interpreting technical drawings, overseeing commissioning activities, and managing a diverse workforce in demanding industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise teams of mechanics, pipefitters, and mechanical technicians through all project phases.

• Manage mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

• Oversee installation, flushing, cleaning, and pressure testing of piping systems, including systems up to 12″ diameter and high-pressure systems up to 10 bar.

• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and associated electrical systems.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, allocate resources, and monitor productivity to meet deadlines and budgets.

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, OEMs, and plant managers to resolve technical and operational issues.

• Interpret and work from P&IDs, isometric drawings, test packages, and technical specifications.

• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., API, SMS, NAS 3–5).

• Monitor hydraulic parameters, flow rates, torque specifications, and cleanliness levels.

• Maintain detailed and accurate work documentation, including logs, change records, and as-built reports.

• Enforce adherence to safety regulations, industry codes, and company procedures.

• Act as a key liaison between construction, service, and maintenance teams.

• Troubleshoot on-site issues including component mismatches, assembly errors, and delays.

• Support final handover activities, including torque control and alignment of metric/imperial systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of mechanical experience in industrial or construction environments.

• At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role on installation or commissioning projects.

• Strong technical knowledge of hydraulics, flow systems, torque specifications, and pressure technologies.

• Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, and pressure test documentation.

• Familiarity with API, SMS, NAS 3–5, and German/international industrial standards.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and OEM partners.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective under pressure.

• Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and strong safety awareness.

• Willingness to travel up to 100%, including to remote or isolated job sites.

• Qualified as a mechanic, foreman, or certified master craftsman (e.g., Werkstattmeister or equivalent).

• Possession of a state contractor’s license (if required).

• German and/or Spanish language skills are preferred.

The pay range for this role is $35-45/hr]. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
