Principal Civil Structural Engineer | Cofferdams. Gravity Dams. Real Engineering.

Some engineers design another warehouse.

Others help modernize America’s hydropower infrastructure.

If reinforced concrete hydraulic structures, cofferdams, powerhouses, and dam engineering are the projects that made you love structural engineering in the first place, this is the kind of work that doesn’t come around often. Better yet, you’ll do it from wherever you work best.

What you’ll be doing is solving the complex civil and structural challenges behind new and existing hydropower facilities. You’ll:

• Design reinforced concrete hydraulic structures, powerhouses, pump stations, canal walls, and dam infrastructure.
• Engineer temporary works including cofferdams, excavation support systems, and soil and rock stabilization.
• Develop calculations, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and construction documents.
• Create and review designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and other engineering platforms.
• Support geotechnical investigations, evaluate field conditions, and oversee site investigations when needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver projects that support America’s clean energy future.

• $160,000-$185,000 base salary (with flexibility for the right person)

Who you are isn’t someone chasing the next title – you’re chasing interesting engineering problems.

You hold a PE license and have spent 10-15+ years designing major concrete hydraulic structures. You’ve worked on hydropower, dams, water resources, or similarly complex infrastructure where failure isn’t an option. If you already have your SE license, great. If not, you’re interested in earning it.
