Some safety jobs are paperwork. This isn’t one of them.
You’ll be out in the field supporting one of the most unique renewable energy projects in the country – helping safely dismantle wind turbines through crane operations, demolition, and controlled explosive turbine felling.
This isn’t about checking boxes. It’s about being the person crews trust, management relies on, and everyone expects to speak up when something doesn’t look right.
If you’re the kind of safety professional who would rather walk the jobsite than sit behind a desk, keep reading.
What you’ll be doing
- Serve as the lead onsite safety representative for wind turbine decommissioning operations.
- Spend your day in the field coaching crews, identifying hazards, and reinforcing safe work practices.
- Monitor high-risk activities including demolition, rigging, lifting, cutting, and controlled explosive operations.
- Conduct field audits, inspections, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews.
- Lead toolbox talks, orientations, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Manage permits, safety documentation, and compliance with OSHA, client, and company standards.
- Exercise stop-work authority whenever conditions require it—because everyone goes home safely or the work waits.
What you get
- $55/hour
- Approximately 55 hours per week
- $125/day per diem for qualified travelers
- Mileage reimbursement for mobilization and demobilization
- Company truck provided for onsite use
- Home trips approximately every six weeks
- Project through late 2026 with the opportunity to continue onto future wind decommissioning projects across the country
- The chance to work on specialized renewable energy projects that very few safety professionals ever experience
Who you are
You’re not a clipboard safety person.
You’re visible, approachable, and respected because you’re in the field where the work happens. Crews know you’ll help solve problems, not just point them out, but you’re also comfortable stopping work when conditions become unsafe.
You hold a current CHST certification along with First Aid/CPR/AED credentials and have experience supporting high-hazard construction, demolition, industrial, heavy civil, power generation, refinery, or renewable energy projects. You understand that good safety leadership is built on relationships, consistency, and accountability.
Curious? Let’s talk about the project, the travel schedule, and whether this is the kind of field safety role you’ve been looking for.
