If you know plumbing systems well enough to walk into a facility, figure out what’s wrong, and explain what it will take to fix it, you already have the hardest part of this job.
Now imagine using that knowledge on the other side of the work surveying systems, developing solutions, building the estimate, and sitting across from the customer explaining why your recommendation makes sense.
What you’ll do:
- Survey plumbing and mechanical systems and identify repair, modification, and replacement opportunities.
- Review drawings, specifications, equipment, and job conditions to understand the real scope.
- Build estimates around labor, materials, quantities, time, and resources.
- Develop proposals and design-build solutions that make technical and financial sense for the customer.
- Present recommendations and explain the long-term cost of owning, operating, and maintaining a facility.
- Build relationships with customers, follow up on leads, manage quotes, and turn opportunities into booked work.
- Stay involved after the sale, helping resolve concerns and maintain long-term customer relationships.
What you get:
You’ll have a role where your technical knowledge actually drives the conversation, not just the sale. The base salary is $75,000–$100,000, and the position is direct hire. You’ll also have the opportunity to grow your customer relationships and become the person clients call when they need to figure out what comes next for their plumbing systems.
Who you are:
You understand plumbing and mechanical systems beyond the textbook. You can look at a system, drawings, or job conditions and connect the dots between the problem, the solution, and the cost. You’re comfortable talking with customers, asking good questions, explaining technical issues in plain English, and following an opportunity all the way from initial conversation to proposal.
An associate degree in construction sciences, HVAC, or a related field is required, with a bachelor’s preferred. You’ll also need working knowledge of plumbing/mechanical systems, customer relationship experience, and comfort with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Curious what the customer base and day-to-day look like? Reach out and I’ll give you the details before you decide whether it’s worth a conversation.
