You know the difference between managing a project and actually owning one. If you can take a complex interior buildout from preconstruction through closeout, anticipate the problems before they hit the schedule, and keep a demanding client confident along the way, this is the kind of PM role where that experience matters.
You’ll be running design-driven restaurant and experiential projects where the details aren’t optional. High-finish interiors, complex MEP coordination, specialty finishes, millwork, owner-furnished equipment, tight schedules and clients who expect you to have your act together.
You’ll own
- Leading bidding, estimating, and proposals before taking the project through construction and closeout.
- Managing budgets, schedules, procurement, subcontractors, and cost control from start to finish.
- Serving as the point person for clients, architects, designers, consultants, landlords, and the internal project team.
- Working closely with the Superintendent and field team to turn design intent into a finished project.
- Identifying risks around long-lead materials, permitting, inspections, utilities, and other schedule-critical items before they become fires.
- Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, cost reporting, and client communication without letting details fall through the cracks.
- Coordinating specialty finishes, millwork, fixtures, equipment, and owner-furnished items where precision matters.
What you get
You’ll have the autonomy to run complex projects with typical oversight not constant hand-holding. You’ll work across restaurant and experiential concepts while also bringing luxury/high-end retail experience to the table. Compensation is $110,000–$135,000, based on experience, with periodic national travel, generally 2–4 days per month.
You’re probably a fit if you’ve already proven you can run a complex commercial TI project independently. You’re organized, proactive, calm under pressure, strong with clients, and comfortable making decisions when the schedule doesn’t leave much room for mistakes. Restaurant construction experience is welcome, but high-end retail or comparable luxury interior experience can translate well. Fast-food or limited-buildout concepts aren’t likely to provide the complexity this role requires.
Want to know what kinds of projects are coming up? Reach out and I’ll give you the details before you decide whether it’s worth a conversation.
