This is the part of electrical engineering where drawings, studies, equipment, and construction finally have to prove they work. You’ll be in the field commissioning and starting up a new power generation facility in Bowling Green, working with the equipment and systems that have to perform when the switch gets thrown.

You’ll own the electrical side of getting systems ready for operation. You’ll test and troubleshoot switchgear, transformers, generators, protection relays, controls, and associated systems. You’ll validate power system studies against as-built conditions, oversee electrical testing, support loop checks and protection verification, and help drive issues to resolution before energization.

You’ll also be involved in FAT, SAT, PSSR, RFSU, turnover packages, punch lists, vendor coordination, and system-level integration of power generation and BESS equipment. You won’t be stuck behind a desk, this is a field role where your engineering judgment gets put to work in real time.

What you get is $70–$80/hour, plus $230/day per diem ($150 lodging + $80 food) when applicable. The schedule is 7 days on / 7 days off, 12-hour shifts, giving you a defined rotation instead of the typical commissioning grind. You’ll also have the opportunity to work alongside construction, controls, commissioning, and operations teams on a facility moving toward startup.

You’re the engineer we want to talk to if you have 4+ years in electrical engineering, power systems, or commissioning and you know your way around switchgear, transformers, generators, one-lines, protection systems, and electrical testing. Power generation, BESS, data center, relay testing, ETAP/SKM, and PE experience will make you even more dangerous.
Want to know what’s being built and what you’ll actually be commissioning? Reach out. We’ll give you the details before you decide anything.
