Construction Site Manager – Utility-Scale Solar

Per Sé Group is seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to provide onsite construction leadership for the Heartland Solar Project, a major utility-scale renewable energy development. You’ll serve as a key owner-side representative responsible for keeping safety, quality, schedule, contractors, and overall project execution aligned from construction through completion.

If EPC contracts, IFC drawings, OFE/OEM coordination, Golden Row inspections, Care/Custody/Control, construction sequencing, and utility-scale solar are already part of your world, we should talk.

What You’ll Do

• Provide onsite leadership and oversight of EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project personnel.

• Verify construction activities comply with approved scope, IFC drawings, permits, applicable codes, contractual requirements, and industry standards.

• Monitor safety, quality, environmental compliance, schedule, productivity, logistics, and contractor performance.

• Review construction schedules, understand sequencing, and identify execution risks that could impact project milestones.

• Evaluate contractor performance against project requirements, contractual obligations, and quality standards.

• Participate in pre-construction planning and conduct EPC Agreement and IFC drawing page-turns with the site team.

• Coordinate with Engineering on specifications, RFIs, technical questions, and field issues.

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate onsite construction team personnel.

• Facilitate site meetings, monitor progress, resolve onsite obstacles, and communicate emerging risks to project leadership.

• Oversee site logistics, material laydown, equipment storage, crew coordination, and resource requirements.

• Track Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) and OEM deliveries and identify procurement or delivery issues affecting the construction schedule.

• Facilitate coordination with EPC and OEM suppliers, including transfer of Care, Custody, and Control.

• Identify construction challenges affecting schedule, cost, or quality and work across project teams to develop solutions.

• Provide regular reporting on construction progress, risks, issues, and resolutions.

• Conduct regular safety observations and intervene when unsafe conditions are identified.

• Participate in pre-task alignment meetings, First Build and Golden Row inspections.

• Support quality-control processes and verify contractor documentation and project deliverables meet requirements.

• Maintain effective communication between project leadership, contractors, suppliers, Engineering, and other stakeholders.

The Construction Site Manager provides owner-side oversight of EPC execution. The site team observes, verifies, and recommends appropriate changes based on contractual requirements and industry best practices rather than directing the EPC contractor’s means and methods.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 3 years of construction management experience.

• 3–5 years of utility-scale solar and/or wind construction experience.

• Experience working with an EPC contractor, construction management consulting firm, engineering firm, or renewable-energy owner/developer.

• Strong understanding of EPC contracts, subcontracts, construction sequencing, site logistics, safety, quality, and schedule management.

• Proven experience leading complex onsite teams and coordinating contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.

• Strong knowledge of renewable-energy construction practices and utility-scale project execution.

• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, project requirements, and contractual obligations.

• Strong understanding of construction safety and quality requirements.

• Ability to identify project risks, solve field problems, and drive issues toward resolution.

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Proficiency with project-management tools and Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability and willingness to work onsite and travel as required.

• High school diploma or GED required.

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, occupational health and safety certifications, and/or a General Contractor’s license are preferred but not required.
