Per Sé Group is hiring a Mechanical Panel Technician for a long-term contract-to-hire opportunity in Darien, Illinois.

This position is focused on the mechanical fabrication and assembly of industrial control panels and enclosures, with an emphasis on drilling, tapping, measuring, layout, and working accurately from drawings and prints.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work in a shop or manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

• Drill and tap metal control panels and enclosures
• Measure, mark, and lay out components for installation
• Perform mechanical assembly and fabrication work
• Use hand and power tools safely and accurately
• Read and follow mechanical drawings, prints, and basic schematics
• Prepare panels and enclosures for component installation
• Complete detailed assembly work according to specifications
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

What We’re Looking For

• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with your hands
• Hands-on experience with drilling and tapping
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings or prints
• Experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, machine building, manufacturing, maintenance, or a similar hands-on environment is a plus
• Experience measuring and accurately laying out material before drilling or tapping is a plus
• Control panel or electrical wiring experience is a plus, but not required
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to Darien, IL
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Pay: $25–$28/hour, depending on experience
• Location: Darien, Illinois
• Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
• Contract Duration: Approximately six months, with potential conversion to a full-time position

• Overtime: Not currently scheduled, but may become available depending on workload
