Job Summary

We are seeking a Physical Security Administrator to manage, deploy, and support physical security systems across our energy plants, offices, and data centers. This position plays a key role in overseeing access control and surveillance technologies, coordinating with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) teams and Security Integrators during new site builds and upgrades. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and security of systems like Verkada, Pro Watch (Honeywell), and Avigilon. This hybrid role reports to the Director of Cybersecurity and is based in our Scottsdale (preferred) or Houston office, with minimal travel required for system installations and site surveys.

Responsibilities

• Implement, support, and maintain physical security systems at multiple sites (energy plants, offices, data centers).

• Manage access control including creating, updating, and deactivating employee and visitor badges.

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to intercoms, security cameras, and access systems.

• Oversee installation projects at new or repowered sites, ensuring quality assurance in collaboration with EPC and security vendors.

• Lead the deployment of new cloud-based video surveillance systems (e.g., Verkada) and assist with the migration from legacy platforms such as Pro Watch.

• Maintain optimal system performance through routine audits, software updates, and configuration changes.

• Coordinate with IT/Network teams to ensure seamless integration of physical security technologies.

• Conduct regular training sessions for site personnel on system usage and protocols.

• Support internal and external audits related to physical security.

• Participate in planning and execution of physical security system roadmaps and strategic initiatives.

• Assist in service call tracking, vendor management, and project billing.

• Contribute to documentation and reporting on physical security infrastructure, updates, and changes.

Preferred Skills and Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience (High school diploma required).

• Minimum 4 years of experience in physical security administration, with a focus on access control and surveillance systems.

• Hands-on experience with Verkada, Pro Watch, and Avigilon systems.

• Familiarity with alarm systems, analog and digital video systems, and system integration best practices.

• Proficiency in TCP/IP networking concepts and the ability to troubleshoot networked security devices (e.g., IP cameras, access control hardware).

• Experience working with EPC teams and managing vendor relationships for successful project delivery.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and initiatives.

• Ability to draft and maintain clear technical documentation and reports.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ownership and accountability for resolving system-related issues.

• Experience with cybersecurity tools, law enforcement, or relevant certifications in physical security systems is a plus.

The pay range for this role is $60-$64/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
