Summary
Per Se Group has a job opportunity for a Combustion Turbine Technician near Freeport, Texas. In this position, you will work with GE Frame 7E turbines. This position is a contract job with potential temp-to-hire. As a Combustion Turbine Technician you will utilize your skills to support a remotely operated turbine unit at a power generation plant. This is a hands-on role involving both operations and maintenance with on-call responsibilities. The ideal candidate lives within 30 minutes of Freeport, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Respond to dispatches and assume local control of remote-started turbine
• Operate and monitor plant systems and auxiliary equipment
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks
• Complete daily rounds during weekend on-call coverage
• Troubleshoot basic instrumentation and control (I&C) systems
• Document site activities and follow safety protocols

Schedule

• Shift: 4x10s (Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday), 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• On-Call Rotation: 1 week on / 2 weeks off
• Includes weekend rounds (Saturday/Sunday, 4 hours flat/day)
• Must be available for dispatch and on-site response during on-call week
• OT paid at 1.5x for time over 40 hours
• No shift differential; on-call time is unpaid unless dispatched
• On-call work paid with a 4-hour minimum per callout

Preferred Skills and Expertise

• Experience operating simple-cycle gas turbines (Frame 7E preferred)
• Working knowledge of boiler systems
• Hands on maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Basic I&C troubleshooting capabilities
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Must live within 30 minutes of Freeport, TX or be open to travel

The pay range for this role is $45/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
