Summary
The Installation & Service Supervisor is responsible for leading installation and service projects within the DC power/telecommunications industry. This role ensures customer requirements are met while maintaining quality, safety, and project profitability. The Supervisor provides hands-on technical oversight, manages subcontractors and internal resources, and develops methods and procedures to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Supervise all aspects of installation and service projects, including oversight of subcontractors and internal teams.
- Technical Oversight: Lead site preparation, installation, troubleshooting, and hot transition work within CO/MSC environments.
- Process & Quality Control: Develop site-specific methods of procedure (MOPs), ensure adherence to safety protocols, industry standards (Telcordia GR-1275), and company quality guidelines.
- Customer Relations: Serve as the primary customer contact for installation and service projects, ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate job schedules, time and expense reports, and project summaries.
- Team Development: Train, mentor, and assess field technicians; ensure compliance with HR, safety, EEO, and EPA policies.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement cost reduction actions, process improvements, and technical training to keep the team current with emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years experience as a Lead Installation or Service Technician within the DC power/oil and gas industry.
- Strong background in field engineering, site layout, material coordination, troubleshooting, and customer service.
- Proven ability to supervise subcontractors, manage projects, and drive on-time delivery.
- Knowledge of industry standards, including Telcordia GR-1275 (Level 4 installer requirements).
- Strong leadership, personnel management, and communication skills.
- CDL License preferred (not required).
- Travel up to 25%; majority of work conducted at customer premises.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, including climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects.
- Commitment to safety and minimizing service interruptions.
The pay range for this role is $35-45/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
