Position Summary:
Reporting to the Solar Site Supervisor, the Solar Groundman is responsible for vegetation maintenance and abatement at solar power plants. The primary goal is to ensure well-maintained, safe, and attractive outdoor environments, including grounds, landscaping, and walkways.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform vegetation maintenance and abatement on solar power generation sites.

• Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, tractors, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, rotary cutters, and hand tools.

• Use hand and gas-powered tools to mow grass, rake leaves, and prepare grounds for seasonal changes.

• Maintain walkways, parking lots, and solar equipment areas, including snow and ice removal.

• Assist solar technicians with routine and preventative tasks, including PV module changeouts and general electrical maintenance.

• Ensure that co-workers and contractors adhere to safe work practices at all times.

• Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, electrical devices, and company property in good working order.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• General mechanical aptitude.

• Clear understanding of safe workplace practices and procedures.

• Ability to travel to solar sites and work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 1–2 years of facilities management, groundskeeping, or vegetation management experience preferred but not required.
