If you’re a safety professional who’d rather be walking a utility-scale renewable energy project than buried in a safety office, this is the kind of assignment that puts your experience to work.
You’ll be the safety subject-matter expert on site, working alongside the construction team and EPC contractor to spot risks, challenge unsafe conditions, and help keep a major project moving safely.
What you’ll do
- Walk the site every day looking for hazards, unsafe conditions, and gaps in compliance
- Work with contractor safety teams to develop mitigation plans and drive corrective actions
- Lead safety training and ongoing education for project personnel
- Conduct inspections and audits against OSHA, contractual, and project safety requirements
- Participate in daily meetings with the site team, EPC contractor, and vendors to address observations and concerns
- Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, reporting, and corrective actions
- Review safety data and trends to identify opportunities to improve site performance
- Coordinate emergency response drills and help keep safety plans, procedures, and documentation current
What you get
You’ll be working on utility-scale renewable energy construction, with the variety and responsibility that comes from being embedded at the project site. The role pays $50–$60/hour, with $160/day per diem, and rotation options for qualifying projects more than 250 miles from home. Eligible assignments include $1,500 mobilization and $1,500 demobilization, plus up to $400 per rotation for flights.
Who you are
You have 5+ years of onsite EH&S experience, OSHA 30, and either a CHST or CSP. More importantly, you know how to walk onto an active construction site, recognize what can go wrong before it does, communicate without creating unnecessary friction, and get people moving toward a safer solution.
You can work with contractors, project managers, vendors, and site leadership without losing sight of what matters: people go home safe.
About the opportunity
This is a field-facing safety leadership role where your judgment, communication, and ability to spot problems early directly influence project performance.
Want to know what project you’d be stepping onto? Reach out and I’ll give you the details before you decide whether it’s worth a conversation.
