Construction Site Manager – Utility-Scale Solar

Swan Solar Project | Bates County, Missouri

If you’re tired of managing construction from behind a screen when you know your best work happens in the field…keep reading.

Per Sé Group is seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager (CSM) to provide onsite construction leadership for a major 650 MW utility-scale solar project spanning approximately 4,000 acres. You’ll serve as a key onsite leader responsible for keeping safety, quality, schedule, contractors, and project execution aligned from construction through completion.

If EPC contracts, IFC drawings, OFE/OEM coordination, Golden Row inspections, Care/Custody/Control, construction sequencing, and utility-scale solar are already part of your world, we should talk.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide onsite leadership and oversight of EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project personnel.
  • Verify construction activities comply with approved scope, IFC drawings, permits, applicable codes, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
  • Monitor safety, quality, environmental compliance, schedule, productivity, logistics, and contractor performance.
  • Review construction schedules and identify execution risks that could impact project milestones.
  • Lead site meetings and coordinate closely with the Construction Project Manager, Engineering, Safety, Quality, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Participate in EPC Agreement and IFC drawing page-turns and pre-construction planning.
  • Oversee construction sequencing, crew coordination, material laydown, equipment storage, site logistics, and resource requirements.
  • Track Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) and OEM deliveries and identify procurement or delivery issues affecting construction.
  • Facilitate coordination with EPC and OEM suppliers, including transfer of Care, Custody, and Control.
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate onsite construction team personnel.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality inspections and intervene when unsafe conditions are identified.
  • Participate in pre-task alignment, First Build and Golden Row inspections.
  • Ensure contractor documentation and project deliverables meet requirements.
  • Provide project leadership with timely reporting on progress, risks, issues, and resolutions.
  • Serve as a primary onsite point of contact across contractors, suppliers, project teams, and other stakeholders.

The CSM provides owner-side oversight of EPC execution and contractor performance. The site team observes, verifies, and recommends appropriate changes based on contractual requirements and industry best practices rather than directing the EPC contractor’s means and methods.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 3 years of construction management experience.
  • 3–5 years of utility-scale solar and/or wind construction experience.
  • Experience working with an EPC contractor, construction management consulting firm, engineering firm, or renewable energy owner/developer.
  • Strong understanding of EPC contracts, subcontractors, construction sequencing, site logistics, safety, quality, and schedule management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex onsite teams and coordinating multiple contractors and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy construction practices and utility-scale project execution.
  • Ability to identify project risks, solve field problems, and drive issues toward resolution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite and travel as required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, occupational health and safety certifications, and/or a General Contractor’s license are preferred but not required.

If you’ve built your career being the person everyone looks to when a major project needs to stay safe, stay on schedule, and keep moving forward, this is a project worth talking about.
