You know how to run a job. Now run one where the logistics are part of the schedule.
At this NASA project in Huntsville, you’ll own the field. Every trade, every crew, every delivery, every three-week look-ahead and the quality and safety standards that keep the work moving.
You’ll be the person making the field work. You’ll:
- Direct daily operations and coordinate all trades working on the project.
- Build and manage three-week look-aheads against the CPM schedule.
- Plan manpower, crew sequencing, deliveries, laydown, and site access before they become problems.
- Coordinate work on a controlled installation where every worker must be badged, screened, and scheduled.
- Read, evaluate, forecast, and update construction schedules and drawings.
- Set the quality and safety expectations for the field and make sure they’re followed.
- Work alongside an Assistant Superintendent while corporate superintendent leadership supports you from above.
The challenge is logistics. On a normal site, a late delivery is a headache. Here, getting people and materials through a security-controlled installation can affect the schedule itself. The Superintendent who sees that coming weeks ahead and has the manpower and material flow planned accordingly is the one who keeps the project moving.
What you get: a $110,000–$135,000 salary, ownership of field operations on a major federal project, and a role where your judgment actually matters. You’re not stepping into a site to simply enforce someone else’s plan. The site is yours.
You’ll fit if you’ve spent at least five years as a Superintendent on large commercial, institutional, or federal vertical construction projects, with 10+ years preferred. You need experience coordinating complex manpower and site logistics, the ability to work with CPM schedules and construction drawings, demonstrated safety/hazard identification experience, and OSHA 30-hour construction training.
Federal or secure-site experience, Redstone Arsenal, military bases, airports, plants, or similar will put you ahead. So will structural steel/sitework experience and a track record leading large trade workforces on $50M+ projects.
If you’re the kind of Superintendent who plans three moves ahead instead of reacting to the field, let’s talk about the project.
