The grid doesn’t run itself. You’ll be the person making sure the procedures, systems, people, and information behind a renewable energy control center are ready when the operation gets complicated.

This is a chance to move beyond simply monitoring operations. You’ll help shape how the control center operates, from outage coordination and switching procedures to SCADA, communications, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

• Build and improve the procedures, tools, and systems that keep control center operations reliable and consistent
• Coordinate grid outages, switching/tagging activities, and ISO interactions with internal teams and external partners
• Own documentation, reporting, and audit readiness tied to NERC, FERC, and DOE requirements
• Analyze curtailments, outages, facility performance, and operating trends to find opportunities to improve
• Support SCADA systems and communications infrastructure across the operation
• Work with Regulatory Compliance on OT network access, cybersecurity, and technical standards
• Help raise the bar on safety, training, and technical readiness across the team

What you get

You’ll have a hybrid schedule in downtown Chicago, with three days in the office and two from home, plus early Fridays. The base is $115K–$140K, with a 15% annual performance bonus and comprehensive benefits starting day one. There’s also a defined path for technical, skills, and language development, including tuition reimbursement.

Who you are

You understand what happens when power operations meet the real world. You’ve spent at least five years in utility, control center, or renewable generation operations and know your way around grid operations, ISO protocols, SCADA, and outage coordination. You’re the kind of operator who sees a messy process and immediately starts thinking about how to make it better.
