Senior Hydraulics & Hydrology Engineer | Help redesign America’s rivers.
Most H&H engineers spend their careers solving one project at a time.
This opportunity lets you help shape the future of hydropower across the United States.
If you’re energized by complex hydraulic challenges, enjoy influencing design decisions, and want your work to support the country’s clean energy transition, this is the kind of role that doesn’t come around often.
What you’ll do
- Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for new and existing hydropower developments.
- Evaluate hydraulic structures for navigation, scour, sediment transport, erosion, ice impacts, and hydraulic transients.
- Design and optimize water conveyance systems, intake structures, tailraces, cofferdams, and related infrastructure.
- Partner with civil, structural, and mechanical engineers to guide project development from concept through construction.
- Support FEMA floodplain analyses, permitting efforts, and regulatory coordination.
- Review physical hydraulic modeling and apply findings to final designs.
- Provide engineering support during construction, including RFIs, submittals, field reviews, and change management.
- Present technical recommendations that influence major engineering and business decisions.
What you get
- Remote position with up to 10% travel.
- $130,000–$190,000 base salary.
- Annual bonus up to 15%.
- The opportunity to work on nationally significant renewable energy infrastructure.
- A collaborative engineering team where your expertise helps shape projects from early development through execution.
Who you are
You’re the engineer people trust when water becomes the hardest part of the project.
You enjoy digging into complex hydraulic problems, but you also know engineering is about helping projects move forward – not just building another model.
You have a PE license, at least eight years of H&H experience, and confidence using HEC-RAS, GEOHECRAS, GIS platforms, and Civil3D. You’ve led technical work, collaborated across disciplines, and understand how engineering decisions affect permitting, constructability, cost, and long-term performance.
Curious? Let’s talk about the projects, the team, and whether this is the kind of engineering challenge you’ve been looking for.
