The project isn’t complete because construction says it is. It’s complete because you prove it is.

If you’re the person everyone looks to when it’s time to energize, test, troubleshoot, and turn over a utility-scale project safely, this is the kind of role where your experience actually drives the schedule.

You’ll lead onsite commissioning for large Solar and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects, working alongside construction teams, EPCs, vendors, and engineers to make sure every system is ready for Day One.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead onsite commissioning activities from installation through final turnover.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, and project teams around testing priorities and critical path activities.
  • Walk the field, verify installation quality, and identify issues before they become startup problems.
  • Oversee commissioning plans, test procedures, documentation, and system readiness.
  • Review LOTO, energization plans, switching activities, and testing boundaries before systems go live.
  • Drive punch list completion and turnover documentation through commercial operation.
  • Help deliver utility-scale Solar and BESS facilities that are safe, compliant, and ready to perform.

What you get

  • $58-$64/hour
  • $160/day per diem (7 days/week)
  • Company truck, laptop, and monthly cell phone allowance
  • Mobilization and demobilization assistance
  • Four-week rotation schedule with company-supported trips home
  • Opportunity to work on utility-scale renewable energy projects that are helping shape the future of the grid
  • Long-term assignment with an established renewable energy developer

Who you are

You’re the person who enjoys being in the field, not behind a desk. You catch problems before they become delays. Contractors respect you because you’re fair, organized, and know when to push. Whether your background comes from commissioning, electrical construction, startup, or renewable energy, you know that successful projects are built on disciplined execution – not assumptions.

Experience with utility-scale Solar, BESS, or similar electrical infrastructure projects is important, along with the ability to read construction drawings, coordinate testing activities, and keep multiple workstreams moving safely.
