Field Engineering Technologist – Mechanical/Civil

Per Sé Group is seeking an experienced Field Engineering Technologist – Mechanical/Civil to support the field execution of major construction projects. You’ll serve as an important link between construction, engineering, contractors, and project leadership—verifying that what’s happening in the field aligns with the drawings, specifications, schedule, safety requirements, and project plan.

What You’ll Do

• Support day-to-day field construction activities under the direction of the Construction Manager.

• Coordinate contractor activities through Field Supervisors to support approved schedules and work plans.

• Participate in site walkdowns and lead construction and progress meetings.

• Verify construction progress against drawings, specifications, and work packages.

• Identify field execution risks, variances, and non-conformances and escalate them appropriately.

• Support site safety programs through hazard identification, job safety meetings, and field observations.

• Verify contractor compliance with approved safety plans, permits, and procedures.

• Maintain accurate daily reports, installed quantities, inspection records, and field documentation.

• Validate completed work to support cost, schedule, forecasting, and progress reporting.

• Assist with identification and documentation of project changes.

• Interface with contractors to clarify scope, drawings, specifications, and completion status.

• Track contractor performance and communicate observations, risks, and recommendations to project leadership.

• Serve as a liaison between field operations, Engineering, Project Controls, contractors, and management.

• Support project closeout documentation as required.

This is a field verification, coordination, and escalation role. The Field Engineering Technologist does not direct contractor means and methods or own project budgets, contracts, commercial decisions, or final approvals.

What You’ll Bring

• Diploma or degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.

• 6–8 years of experience supporting major construction projects.

• Strong Mechanical and/or Civil construction field experience.

• Strong understanding of construction practices and field safety requirements.

• Experience working directly with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

• Ability to read and work from construction drawings, specifications, and work packages.

• Experience documenting and verifying field progress.

• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

• Ability to identify issues, communicate facts clearly, and escalate risks appropriately.

• Comfortable spending significant time in an active construction environment.
