You’re not looking for another classroom, you want to start working on real instrumentation. This is a chance to build your trade at a major refinery while getting hands-on with the equipment and systems that keep the operation running.

You’ll work Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, at $40/hr. More importantly, you’ll get exposure to a wide range of instrumentation instead of getting stuck doing the same task every day.

You’ll spend your time learning and doing things like:

  • Set up, troubleshoot, repair, configure, and calibrate electronic, pneumatic, analytical, and hydraulic instrumentation
  • Work with level, temperature, pressure, flow, pH, gas detection, and conductivity applications
  • Learn to work from P&IDs, loop drawings, ladder logic, and electrical schematics
  • Set up pneumatic and electronic control valves and positioners
  • Calibrate electronic and pneumatic transmitters and calculate LRV/URV
  • Gain hands-on exposure to DP transmitters, radar and magnetostrictive level devices, magmeters, vortex meters, and more
  • Build mechanical skills through small-bore pipefitting, minor conduit repair, and stainless tubing work

What you get: $40/hr, a four-day workweek, and the opportunity to build refinery instrumentation experience across both maintenance and project work. You’ll also develop skills that can take you well beyond an entry-level position.

Who you are: You’ve got mechanical aptitude and genuinely want to make instrumentation your trade. An associate degree in instrumentation is the best-case background; an instrumentation certificate or relevant coursework/training can also put you in the conversation. You’ll need to be willing to obtain a TWIC for site access, and you need to be comfortable with climbing and occasional use of a breathing apparatus.

The next step is simple: If you’re curious about getting into refinery instrumentation at $40/hr, reach out. We’ll tell you what the site, team, and day-to-day work actually look like.
