If you’re the person who notices a missing document before it becomes a problem, this could be a good project for you.

You’ll be the organizational backbone of an active power-generation construction project, working alongside Engineering, Project Management, Construction, the EPC contractor, and subcontractors. Your job is to keep the information moving and make sure the right people can find the right information when they need it.

You’ll spend your days keeping the project organized. You’ll:

  • Manage drawings, engineering documents, correspondence, meeting records, transmittals, and project files in SharePoint.
  • Keep document registers, revision records, logs, and trackers accurate and current.
  • Track technical submittals, engineering comments, deliverables, and open action items.
  • Attend project and coordination meetings, capture decisions and action items, and follow up until things get closed.
  • Coordinate documentation between the owner, EPC contractor, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
  • Help identify missing, late, or incomplete documentation before it creates bigger problems.
  • Support the project through construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.

What you get: $40–45/hr on a contract/project basis, a Monday–Friday 8–5 schedule, and an onsite role where you’ll have visibility into how a power-generation project actually moves from engineering through construction and eventual turnover.

You’ll probably be good at this if you’re proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and don’t need someone reminding you to chase down an outstanding item. You know the difference between simply filing a document and actually controlling the flow of information. Construction, EPC, utility, engineering, or heavy industrial project experience will matter here, along with SharePoint and solid Microsoft Office skills.

This isn’t a back-office filing job. You’ll be working directly with the people building the project, and your organization will help keep engineering and field execution connected.

Curious what the project looks like and where you’d fit into it? Reach out and I’ll give you the details.
