You know the difference between managing a job and actually running it. On these projects, the mechanical work is on the critical path—and you’ll be the person in the field making sure it stays there.

You’ll lead HVAC and mechanical piping installation on large-scale, mission-critical data center projects where chilled water, cooling infrastructure, and commissioning aren’t just line items on a plan. They’re what keeps the facility running.

You’ll own the field execution:

  • Lead mechanical installation from mobilization through startup, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Direct subcontractors, foremen, craft labor, and specialty contractors to keep production moving.
  • Coordinate chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, ductwork, hydronic piping, and related systems.
  • Drive critical-path activities and catch schedule problems before they become project problems.
  • Coordinate mechanical work with electrical, controls, plumbing, structural, and other trades.
  • Read drawings, P&IDs, specifications, RFIs, and submittals—and make practical decisions when the field doesn’t match the plan.
  • Own QA/QC, safety, manpower, productivity, daily coordination, and the details that get a project across the finish line.

You’re looking at $130K–$150K/year with the opportunity to work on high-profile data center projects across the U.S. You’ll get exposure to some of the most demanding mechanical systems in construction, including large chilled-water plants and complex cooling infrastructure. If you’ve been looking for work that can take your field leadership to another level, this is the kind of environment that does it.

You’re a field-first mechanical construction leader. You know HVAC and piping, can read the drawings, understand sequencing, and aren’t afraid to make the call when something needs fixing. You can push a subcontractor without creating unnecessary friction, stay calm when priorities change, and keep safety, quality, and production moving together.

Want to know what project you’d be stepping into? Reach out and I’ll give you the details before you decide whether it’s worth a conversation.
