Our power generation client with electric power generation facilities totaling more than 5,900 MW of installed capacity in California, Connecticut, and New York has an immediate need for a Combustion Turbine Technician in Connecticut.
Responsibilities
- Operates and maintains simple cycle combustion turbine-generators and auxiliary equipment
- Installs, adjusts, maintains, analyzes issues and repairs all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment and circuitry associated with the sites
- Repairs, installs, tests, removes and replaces motors, generators, rectifiers, batteries, transformers, regulators, circuit breakers, disconnecting switches, instruments, controls, relays, communication equipment, lighting arrestors and other related equipment with control apparatus
- Performs pipe fitting, pipe covering, insulating, incidental machining, incidental welding, brazing, flame and arc cutting
- Understand and execute the equipment LOTO procedure
- Operate various systems to receive, analyze, comprehend and input data
- Monitor and record data available through the use of various instruments, recording charts, annunciator systems and other monitoring devices onto shift logs as directed by operational procedures
Preferred skills and expertise
- Six (6)+ years of experience in an I&C, Electrical, or Mechanical role within a generating station or with combustion turbine
- Field service experience on Pratt & Whitney FT4 combustion turbines highly preferred
- Working knowledge of electronic and complex wiring and schematic diagrams (electrical and mechanical)
- Working knowledge of various shop tools and equipment; may be required perform basic arc welding and gas burning.
- High degree of analytical ability and excessive independent judgment
