Industrial Emergency Services Technician

Summary:
Per Sé Group is seeking an Industrial Emergency Services Technician for our client, who works across the full oil and natural gas value chain - in exploration, production, refining, transportation, and retail - providing products that help power our communities and energize the world. They are committed to operating in a safe, sustainable, and cost-efficient manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute efficient emergency responses by applying professional expertise and techniques at the scene of incidents.
  • Participate in the maintenance and repair of fire apparatus and specialized emergency equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Conduct fire code inspections of facility infrastructure and develop pre-fire plans to mitigate risks.
  • Provide leadership and ongoing training to auxiliary brigade team members, ensuring a high level of preparedness and proficiency.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations established by the organization, including compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation, and Code.
  • Promptly report any injuries, illnesses, or unsafe conditions encountered during work activities.
  • Ensure the availability and proper utilization of personal protective equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge-sharing by coaching and mentoring colleagues on emergency response procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain composure and clarity of thought in high-stress situations to facilitate effective decision-making and communication.

Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in emergency services, preferably within an industrial or similar high-risk environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational prowess and exceptional time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and respond to emergencies promptly.
  • Proficiency in working independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of emergency services principles, procedures, and industry-specific best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information respectfully and tailor messages to diverse audiences and situations.
  • Strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks within the industrial setting.
