An exciting opportunity for a Renewable Project Developer! In this role you will be responsible for the development of stand-alone energy storage and hybrid (energy storage and solar/wind) projects across the West (CA, AZ, UT, OR, WA) region. The position will work with the Origination, Engineering, Project Finance and Construction teams across the full project lifecycle from origination to commissioning and all associated activities required to bring projects to successful commercial operation.
Responsibilities
- Understanding of the development lifecycle of solar energy storage, along with exposure to the benefits and concerns of renewable energy. Some wind experience preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of governmental mandates, environmental regulations and customer/market signals that impact new development of renewable projects, preferably in the CAISO, Northwest, and WECC.
- Track record of navigating, researching, and understanding major Northwest load serving entity, Integrated Resource Planning, and translating to procurement sizing and timing.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with ability to successfully communicate in all situations with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to travel as required (>25%)
Preferred Skills and Expertise
- Bachelors’ degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, environmental science or related field is preferred
- 3++ years of experience in the renewable energy industry in the U.S., with direct experience in full life-cycle development of utility scale solar and/or energy storage projects – wind experience a plus
- Experience with all facets of land development: landowner engagement and negotiation/contracting, title resolution, subdivision, agricultural land use/water restrictions, land (ALTA) surveys, GIS and other real estate elements as required
- Experience managing project schedules and project budgets, as well as understanding of key project value levers (commercial, financial, etc.)
- Experience managing cross-functional employee groups (i.e., project teams) and external stakeholders/agencies to execute on a project development strategy
