Per Sé Group is hiring an experienced Professional Engineer (PE) to provide engineering services on our client’s onshore/offshore oil & gas project in Ingleside, TX. In this role, you will be working as Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer on a historic project, with a highly skilled and success-focused international team. The primary function of the role is to provide expert knowledge and support to the project team in the instrumentation and controls systems during the construction, commissioning and testing phases of the project. We are looking for someone who safely drives results, enables team agility, develops talent, communicates effectively, fosters collaboration, enhances technical expertise for all.
Responsibilities
• Provide expert level technical guidance and direction to resolve any issues or challenges encountered during installation, commissioning, or maintenance activities.
• Provides expertise to project team in instrumentation related activities
• Conduct field inspections to verify the quality and integrity of installed instrumentation equipment and systems.
• As a technical authority, responsible for leading, planning, and delivering Engineering solutions and supporting instrumentation and controls team during the construction and commissioning phase of the project.
• Accountable to coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate installation of instrumentation systems according to project plans and specifications.
• Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and specifications related to instrumentation systems.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of required instrumentation materials and equipment.
• Provide technical guidance to site query and approve red line drawings to be sent for as built.
• Accountable to provide weekly updates to line manager and project team as required.
Preferred Skills and Expertise
• Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation and Controls or Electrical Engineering required. Professional Engineer (PE) designation required.
• 25+ years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry required, with 15+ years experience in working onsite with construction contractors during the building and commissioning of facilities.
• Demonstrated awareness and proactive approach to EHS
• Experience and understanding of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and mechanical completion and commissioning
• Specialized knowledge of transformers, generators, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control, electrical protection systems, etc.
• Experience with Electrical engineering software systems (i.e., ETAP) including motor starting, load flows, and arc flash hazard analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge in protection and control systems
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and MS Project. Working knowledge of Smart Completions software from Hexagon is preferable.
• Able to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, ISOs and technical specifications
• Able to understand and use CMS databases, preferably Hexagon
