Summary

 Per Sé Group is seeking a Sinker EDM Field Service Technician for our client, North America’s premier supplier and servicer of lasers, EDMs, press brakes and fabrication and milling equipment.  Founded in 1978, our client has more than 430 employees in North America and is a part of a global corporation, serving industries including aerospace, automotive, mold and die, job shops, medical and energy.  In this role, you will utilize customer communication skills, and your mechanical and electrical knowledge to repair, troubleshoot, modify, and test complex technical problems on Machining products. This is a 100% travel position, Monday through Friday. Travel is primarily throughout the US but can be International in some cases as well. Our client’s services are provided on-site at the customer’s facilities and via telephone if the situation permits.
 
Responsibilities  
  • Travel to customer locations to diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repair
  • Examine machines mechanically and electrically in order to perform repairs by dismantling machines and rebuilding as needed
  • Diagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephone
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers
  • Effectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze
  • Document in detail product problems and resolutions

Preferred Skills and Expertise  
  • 2-year Electronic or Technical Degree, or experience equivalent
  • Working knowledge of how to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems
  • Skilled in mechanical measurement and inspection techniques (Dial Indicators, Micrometers, and Calipers)
  • Skilled in Electrical measurement and inspection techniques. (Voltmeter, Oscilloscope and other measurement equipment)
  • CNC programming skills a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Extensive travel necessary, current valid drivers’ license required
